Small Groups and Expert Guides
With our routes, every person matters. We work with small groups to ensure a more personal, respectful and immersive experience. Our guides are specialists in the area, with in-depth knowledge of the Teno Massif and the Barranco de Masca — allowing you to discover the land from within, with safety, context and emotion.
A Genuine Connection with the Environment
We don’t just follow paths — we interpret them, feel them, and share them. Our hikes are designed to help you connect with the landscape, the history, and the life that inhabits every corner of Masca. It’s an active experience, yes, but also a profound one that leaves a lasting impression beyond the physical effort.

What’s the difference between Masca Skyline and the Masca Ravine?
Both routes offer unique experiences, but they are very different. The Masca Gorge is a full immersion adventure into the heart of the massif, descending all the way to the coast through the ravine. Masca Skyline, on the other hand, follows a panoramic route along the heights of the Teno Rural Park, offering spectacular views of Masca, the ocean, and the cliffs — a more visual and aerial experience.
How long do the hikes last?
The duration depends on the activity:
- The Masca Ravine hike usually takes between 5 and 6 hours, including the boat ride back.
- Masca Skyline lasts approximately 4 hours.
Both routes include breaks, guided commentary, and time to enjoy the landscape.
What clothes and footwear should I wear?
Wear comfortable, technical, and breathable clothing suitable for the area’s variable climate. Proper footwear is essential: hiking boots or trail shoes with good grip are mandatory. We also recommend bringing sun protection, a hat, sunglasses, enough water, and some snacks to recharge your energy.
Are the routes guided at all times?
Yes. All our hikes are led by professional and certified guides with in-depth knowledge of the area. They not only ensure your safety, but also enhance the experience by sharing the history, geology, flora and culture of the region.
Is there a minimum age to join these activities?
Adventure routes are recommended for people aged 12 and over, as long as they have good physical condition. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and each case is evaluated individually to ensure safety. Children under 8 years old are not allowed to the Masca Gorge.
Is advance booking required?

Can I do the Masca Ravine route on my own?
Yes, but for your safety, comfort and to get the most out of the experience, we recommend joining the complete service offered by El Cardón. If you go independently, you’ll need to arrange each service separately (entry permit to the ravine, boat ticket, transport…), and you’ll miss out on the experience of exploring the ravine with an expert local guide.
