Masca Gorge Equipment

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT:

On our guided Masca Gorge route, our guides are responsible for carrying and presenting your access tickets for the bus, the gorge and the boat. However, it is essential that you personally bring all the required equipment in order to access the gorge.
Missing any of the mandatory items may result in access being denied.

    • Valid ID document proving you are the holder of the access ticket. This also applies to minors under 18 years old.
    • En caso necesario, documentación que justifique la condición de residente en Canarias o menor de edad.
    • Protective helmet, which will be provided on loan by the Masca Gorge staff and must be returned at the end of the route.
    • Sufficient water, as there are no drinking water points along the route (minimum recommended: 1.5 litres per person).
    • Personal medication, if required by medical prescription.
    • Closed mountain footwear and suitable clothing for hiking.*

* In the Masca Gorge, closed mountain, trail or trekking footwear with good grip and deep tread is mandatory. This requirement is essential in order to access the trail.
Please note that even if you have a valid reservation, access will be denied if you are not wearing appropriate mountain footwear, similar to that shown in the reference images.

It is not allowed to complete the route wearing sandals, smooth-soled shoes or light sports trainers (such as tennis shoes or sneakers), like those shown in the reference image.

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT:

  • Energy bars, nuts or similar snacks

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

All the information above is based on the official guidelines issued by TRAGSA, the public company responsible for the management and control of access to the Masca Gorge.
TRAGSA staff are responsible, at the access point, for verifying compliance with current regulations, including mandatory equipment and, in particular, the suitability of footwear.

Please note that the final decision regarding whether footwear and equipment are adequate lies exclusively with TRAGSA staff, not with our guides or our company. Our role is to provide you with clear and accurate information in advance so you can enjoy the experience smoothly and without any issues.
