Starting point: El Palmar Valley — the green heart of Teno
The adventure begins in the charming hamlet of Las Portelas, nestled in the idyllic El Palmar Valley. Right in the heart of the Teno Rural Park, you’ll be welcomed by the peaceful sounds of the countryside, fresh mountain air, and the calm of a protected rural landscape. Here, your journey begins.
Ascent through laurel forest and postcard-perfect views
We start the climb along a trail that winds through lush green mountains covered in ancient laurel forest — a unique ecological treasure. As we gain altitude, our first wow moment awaits: behind us, the El Palmar Valley unfolds like a green carpet, offering panoramic views that invite you to pause, take a deep breath, and simply take it all in.
The ridges of Teno: a balcony over the ocean
Once we reach the summit, we follow a spectacular path along the ridges of the massif. Words fall short here. On one side, the dramatic ravines of Teno; on the other, the endless blue of the Atlantic Ocean, and on the horizon, La Gomera rising like a floating dream. This stretch is undoubtedly one of the major highlights of the hike — a visual feast etched into your memory.
Cruz de Hilda viewpoint: the balcony over Masca
The next big moment comes at the Cruz de Hilda viewpoint. From this privileged spot, you’ll witness one of Tenerife’s most iconic vistas: the village of Masca, nestled between dramatic cliffs, looking like something out of an adventure film. Get ready for the photo of the day.

The trail now descends into Masca village itself, where the pace slows down. Stroll through its cobbled streets, admire the traditional houses, and discover a rich history full of legends. Here, you’ll truly connect with the soul of Teno — its people, its architecture, and its unique character.

- There is a 15-minute courtesy period. Please plan your arrival accordingly. Once this time has passed, the hike will begin, and no refunds will be issued.
- This activity requires a minimum of 6 participants (adults). If the minimum is not met, we will contact you to reschedule, switch to another activity, or request a refund.
- At the end of the hike in Masca, we will return to the starting point using public transport (€1.50 approx., not included in the excursion price).
